The Hit List – The Eclipse Reset

The Hit List - The Eclipse Reset

I was looking forward to my next birthday – and dreading it at the same time. It’s not that I mind getting older. I don’t. There are certain benefits to aging (I’ll take those senior discounts even if I’m not quite there yet! Haha!)

However, after a rough year and astrological aspects from hell quickly approaching, my anxiety was at an all-time high. Mercury retrograde and a direct hit from an eclipse set my teeth on edge. Was this birthday going to suck? Would I be dealing with new drama? Am I getting a cosmic set up for another sucky year? My astrological imagination was running wild with all sorts of scenarios. None of which came to fruition.

Instead, I made some decisions. Rather than sitting around on my hands freaking out, I did what I call an “eclipse reset.” This meant taking a week off from work duties – and two days away from Instagram Lives. I slept in, did lots of salt scrubs, hot showers, prayer, candles, and meditation. I walked in nature, ate cookies, watched Maury and Loudermilk, and read all the books. The cat got extra treats and love.

Most importantly, I spent time by myself. There is something about being alone that gets me back on track. No matter what was happening in the cosmos or the world at large, my days were immersed in quiet activities. My soul was in a happy place, a good omen for the upcoming year.

Today I woke up feeling more like “me” than ever. I feel cleansed, renewed, grounded, and ready. Ready for a new year, new goals, and new levels. The next time the planets look gnarly, I encourage you to approach it with mindfulness. Rather than letting the fear of “what may be happening” take the wheel, make a decision to pull over. Give yourself permission to regroup before getting back on the road again. You might find a new route and adventure that has been waiting for you all along.

It’s peony time!
